Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.
Kayak Shipments
We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.
If we hand deliver it
Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.
If it ships LTL freight
Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.
What we cover
Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.
Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.

20 pounds. That is the bare hull weight of the iTrek 9 Ultralight, and it is the entire argument. It packs into a roller backpack that measures 27.5 x 24.6 x 15.75 inches, which is small enough to check on a plane.
What you are getting for that is a real Hobie. The drive is a genuine MirageDrive GT with Glide Technology and Kick-Up Fins, the same family of drive in the hardshell Passports. You pedal, your hands stay free, and the fins retract when they hit something.
Nine feet five inches on a 40 inch beam, which is wider than any hardshell kayak here. Inflatable hulls buy their stability from width, and 40 inches of it carries 350 lbs.
Both pumps come in the box, hand and electric. The seat is elevated, on breathable mono mesh. The rudder comes off and the steering handle mounts on either side.

Who is this boat for?
Anyone whose real problem is storage or transport rather than performance. Apartments, RVs, sailboats, and anyone flying to the water. If you have a garage and a roof rack, a hardshell like the Hobie Passport 10.5 R will paddle better for similar money.
iTrek 9 or iTrek 11?
A foot and a bit of hull. The Hobie iTrek 11 carries 400 lbs against 350 and tracks better, at 8 lbs more and a longer bag. The 9 is the one to buy if packed size is the reason you are looking at an inflatable at all.
What is the MirageDrive GT?
The drive Hobie fits to the iTrek and Passport boats, paired with Glide Technology and Kick-Up Fins. Hobie describes Glide Technology as "roller bearings at key friction points reduce resistance for a smooth and efficient ride". Hobie publishes no side-by-side comparison against the MirageDrive 180, so we are not going to invent one. Call us at (615) 696-7887 if that decides your purchase.
What are Kick-Up Fins?
Fins that retract by themselves on impact. Hobie’s own line is "Logs, kelp, shallows, rocks, no problem." On an inflatable that matters twice over, because the fins are the only rigid thing hanging below you.
What happens if I puncture it?
The hull is 550 denier PVC, which is heavy material, not pool-toy vinyl. It is also multi-chamber, so one chamber losing air does not sink the boat. Treat it like any inflatable: keep it off sharp gravel, do not drag it loaded, and rinse and dry it before it goes in the bag.
How long does it take to set up?
Hobie does not publish an inflation time and we are not going to guess at one. What we can tell you is that the electric pump is in the box, which is the part that decides how long you stand there.
Does it come with a paddle?
Hobie does not itemise a paddle for this model. Call us at (615) 696-7887 before you order and we will confirm the exact box contents rather than guess.
Do inflatables get the same warranty as the hardshells?
No, and this is worth knowing. Hobie covers 2019-and-newer kayaks for 3 years but rates inflatable kayaks at 2 years. Same defect coverage in materials, manufacturing and design, one year less of it. Claims still go through us as the selling dealer, within 30 days of finding the problem.
Can I leave it inflated?
For a day on the water, yes. For storage, no. Deflate it, rinse it, dry it properly and bag it. Storing an inflatable wet or under pressure in the sun is how they fail early, and Hobie excludes improper storage from the warranty.
Do I need a life jacket with it?
Yes, and the law requires one on board. The Old Town Outfitter Universal is a USCG Type III cut thin through the back.
How long is the Hobie warranty?
Hobie covers 2 years on inflatable kayaks on 2019 and newer models against defects in materials, manufacturing and design. Hobie repairs or replaces at their discretion.
Who handles a warranty claim?
Hobie routes warranty claims through the authorized dealer you bought from, which is us. Within 30 days of finding a defect, bring the boat and your proof of purchase to us and we handle it from there. That is worth knowing before you buy a big boat from a marketplace seller with no dealer behind it.
What voids coverage?
Normal wear and discoloration, abuse, skipped maintenance, hitting submerged objects, mooring or storing the boat in the water, improper transport or storage, weather damage, modifications, and rental or commercial use. One exclusion catches people out: beaching the boat without retracting the MirageDrive and rudder first. Pull both up before you slide onto sand or gravel.
How does the Hobie iTrek 9 Ultralight ship?
Two ways. If you are inside our delivery area, local delivery shows up as a shipping option at checkout and we bring the boat to you ourselves. We call ahead to set a meet-up, and since we do the unloading there is nothing for you to inspect or sign at the curb. Otherwise it ships LTL freight with a carrier running a 99.9% damage-free rate.
