Shipping Damage Free Guarantee

Accessory Shipments

Paddles, PFDs, dry bags, helmets, skirts, motors, rod holders, and accessories ship UPS, FedEx, or USPS Ground.

It lands on your doorstep like any other package. We email tracking the day it leaves our shop.

Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.

Kayak Shipments

We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.

If we hand deliver it

Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.

If it ships LTL freight

Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.

What we cover

Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.

Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.

Astral Warranty

Astral guarantees every product against defects in materials and workmanship for the reasonable lifespan of the product. Coverage goes to the original purchaser.

If you think your Astral gear has a manufacturing defect, stop using it and file a claim on Astral's warranty page.

The Astral Airbelt 2.0 is an inflatable life jacket you wear at your waist. Nothing sits on your chest and nothing goes over your shoulders, so you can paddle, cast or sit on a board without a vest in the way. Pull the cord and a 22 pound buoyant bubble inflates in front of you.

It is a belt. 12 ounces, one universal size that fits up to a 31 inch chest, front buckle closure. A 16 gram CO2 cylinder does the inflating and one is included. There is also an oral tube, so you can inflate it by mouth if the cylinder is spent. The shell is 420 x 220 denier nylon ripstop over a 200 denier high tenacity nylon liner, with a non-corrosive YKK coil zipper and heavy duty acetal hardware.

Know what it is for. Astral built the Airbelt for calm flat water close to shore: stand-up paddling, fishing and canoeing. It is USCG Type V, which means it only counts as your required life jacket while you are actually wearing it, and it does not inflate on its own. This is not a whitewater jacket. If you are running rivers or paddling cold or rough water, wear foam.

Astral Airbelt 2.0 Questions, Answered

How does the Astral Airbelt 2.0 work?

You wear it as a belt at your waist. When you need flotation you pull the cord, a 16 gram CO2 cylinder fires, and a buoyant bubble inflates with 22 pounds of buoyancy. You then pull it over your head.

Does it inflate automatically if I fall in?

No. This is a manual inflation belt. It fires only when you pull the cord, which is why rain, spray and a swamped deck will not set it off. It also means you have to be conscious and able to reach the cord. That is the tradeoff you accept with a belt.

Does it count as my required life jacket?

It is USCG Type V, which is approved only while it is being worn. A foam Type III sitting in your hatch counts whether you wear it or not. An inflatable belt does not. Check your state's requirements before you rely on it, since rules vary by water body and by boat.

What water is the Airbelt right for?

Calm flat water close to shore. Astral lists it for stand-up paddling, fishing and canoeing. It is not a whitewater jacket, and it is not what you want in cold or rough water where you need flotation the second you hit the water rather than after you find the cord.

What size is it?

One universal size that fits up to a 31 inch chest, adjusted at the front buckle. There is no size chart to work through.

What do I do after I have used it?

Rinse it, dry it fully, and rearm it with a new 16 gram CO2 cylinder with a 3/8 inch thread. One cylinder ships with the belt. Keep a spare in your dry bag if you paddle often.

Can I inflate it without the cylinder?

Yes. It has an oral inflation tube, so you can fill it by mouth or top it off after the cylinder has fired.

Will it get in the way when I cast or paddle?

That is the point of the design. At 12 ounces and worn at the waist, it leaves your chest, shoulders and arms clear, so a full casting stroke or a high-angle paddle stroke never touches it.
