Shipping Damage Free Guarantee

Accessory Shipments

Paddles, PFDs, dry bags, helmets, skirts, motors, rod holders, and accessories ship UPS, FedEx, or USPS Ground.

It lands on your doorstep like any other package. We email tracking the day it leaves our shop.

Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.

Kayak Shipments

We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.

If we hand deliver it

Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.

If it ships LTL freight

Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.

What we cover

Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.

Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.

Astral Warranty

Astral guarantees every product against defects in materials and workmanship for the reasonable lifespan of the product. Coverage goes to the original purchaser.

If you think your Astral gear has a manufacturing defect, stop using it and file a claim on Astral's warranty page.

The Astral YTV 2.0 PFD is the low profile whitewater vest, and it is the first freestyle PFD built with a 100% recycled, bluesign approved shell. The fabric is 300 x 300 denier post-consumer recycled polyester ripstop. That is not a marketing footnote on this one. Astral is the only Bluesign System Partner making life jackets, and the YTV 2.0 is where it shows.

What you feel on the water is how little is there. Low profile means increased mobility and fewer distractions, which is the whole argument for a freestyle-cut vest. Torso Lock keeps it from riding up when you get worked, so it stays where you put it instead of climbing toward your chin in a hole.

Storage grew over the original YTV. Two zippered front pockets, both bigger than before, plus a discreet hidden phone pocket. 16.5 pounds of buoyancy, USCG Type V, 1.3 pounds, pullover entry over PVC-free Gaia foam.

Size Chest
S/M 31" - 37"
M/L 38" - 44"
L/XL 45" - 51"

Measure your chest at its widest point with a soft tape and go by that number, not your shirt size. Astral patterns each size to real body dimensions in a paddling posture. Between two sizes, call us at (615) 696-7887.

Astral YTV 2.0 PFD Questions, Answered

What is Torso Lock and why does it matter?

It keeps the jacket from riding up your body. In whitewater, a vest that climbs toward your chin every time you get pushed under is both distracting and less effective. Torso Lock holds it where you set it.

What does bluesign approved mean here?

Bluesign is a textile standard covering chemical inputs, worker safety and environmental impact in manufacturing. Astral is the only Bluesign System Partner making life jackets, and the YTV 2.0's shell is the first 100% recycled, bluesign approved shell on a freestyle PFD.

Is 16.5 pounds of flotation enough for whitewater?

For most river running and freestyle paddling, yes, and it is what the majority of whitewater paddlers wear. If you are running high volume big water or carrying rescue gear, step up to the Indus at 22 pounds with a rescue harness.

Where does my phone go?

There is a dedicated hidden phone pocket, separate from the two zippered front pockets. It is discreet and protected rather than being a general pocket you hope your phone survives in.

How does it compare to the original YTV?

Same low profile idea, with bigger pockets, the hidden phone pocket added, and the recycled bluesign shell. Astral's own framing is increased storage and mobility over the original.

What size do I need?

Go by chest measurement. S/M is 31 to 37 inches, M/L is 38 to 44, L/XL is 45 to 51. Astral patterns for a paddling posture, so the chest number beats your shirt size.

Does it have a rescue harness?

No. The YTV 2.0 is a low profile performance vest without a harness. If you need a quick release rescue harness, that is the Indus, and it requires swiftwater rescue training to use.

Can I use it for touring or paddle boarding?

Yes. Astral lists whitewater, touring, sailing and stand-up paddling as intended uses. The low profile cut and light weight make it comfortable well beyond the river.
