Kayak fishing, at its roots, is about access, and the Bonafide RVR119 is built to reach hard-to-reach water. Bonafide designed it around three principles: hull-ability, mobility and transport, and ultimate fishability.
The hull is a distinct Bonafide river design with a drop skeg system. A kick rocker shape in the bow, an upturned stern much like a drift boat and a flat section about a third of the way down the hull let it work moving water instead of fighting it. Bonafide rates the RVR119 a 10 for slow current, fast current, tracking and agility, and a 9 for choppy water and surf.
Getting it to the water is built in. There are three bow grab points, three midship grab points and a stern Fat Grip handle. The seat is hand-sewn at the Bonafide factory in North Carolina and adjusts four inches forward or aft. For fishing, it has integrated dual anchor landings with two internally run tubing ports, a bow roller, a stern drag-chain area, a 26" Ketch measuring board slot, a removable Dry Pod and YakAttack RotoGrip and LockNLoad track base inserts.

Bonafide RVR119 Questions, Answered
What makes the Bonafide RVR119 a river kayak?
The hull shape and the skeg. Bonafide built a distinct kick rocker into the bow, upturned the stern much like a drift boat and left a flat area about a third of the way down. Add the drop skeg system and you get a kayak that turns when you want it to and tracks when you want it to.
Where does the Bonafide RVR 119 shine, according to the ratings?
Moving water. Bonafide rates it a 10 on slow current, fast current, tracking and agility, and a 9 on choppy water and surf, with an 8 for flat water. That profile points straight at rivers.
How does the drop skeg on the RVR119 work?
A control handle to the right of the seat drops the skeg for tracking. A spring system retracts it automatically when it meets rocks.
Can I put a motor on the Bonafide RVR119?
It is set up for one. There is an integrated Torqeedo throttle landing, rudder-capable foot brace landings and a Steering Kit, and the RVR Stern Mounting Plate and a YakAttack throttle mount cover Torqeedo and Newport Vessels motors. Bonafide publishes install videos for the motor and steering kit, so ask us and we will point you at them.
How does the anchor system work on the RVR119?
Integrated pulley landings and two internally run tubing ports mean the line runs inside the kayak instead of across your deck. There is a bow roller and a stern drag-chain area with quiet channels. From there it is your call: run the single or double Bonafide RVR Anchor Wizard kit through the landings, or mount a YakAttack DropShot Anchor Reel to the track. Both are sold separately, and the RVR Stern Motor/Anchor Mount adds a stern mounting point.
Is 85 lbs manageable at a river put-in?
That is the whole reason for the grab points. River access rarely means a paved ramp, so Bonafide built three bow grab positions, three midship and a stern Fat Grip handle. At 85 lbs, a cart or a second person helps on a long carry.
Does the RVR119 work with Sidekick wheels?
Yes. Bonafide lists it as Sidekick wheel ready, and the Bonafide Sidekick Kayak Cart gives you onboard wheels for the walk to the water.
Will my crate fit the RVR119?
Bonafide lists the BlackPak Pro in two sizes as compatible: the 16" x 16" for maximum storage, or the 13" x 16" if you want more open deck behind the seat. The RVR 119 Under Seat Tackle Storage adds under-seat storage, and there is a dedicated 26" Ketch measuring board slot with both a storage position and a safe-spot measuring position.
What is the Bonafide RVR119 warranty?
The hull carries lifetime coverage against manufacturing defects for the original retail customer, plus 5 years against normal wear and tear, and components are covered for 1 year from purchase. To activate it, register on the Bonafide website within 14 days and keep your receipt. Then file the claim with the dealer you bought from, with photos or video of the issue.
Where is the Bonafide RVR119 made?
It is built in the USA, and the seat is hand-sewn at the Bonafide factory in North Carolina.
How does the Bonafide RVR119 ship?
Two ways. If you are inside our delivery area, local delivery shows up as a shipping option at checkout and we bring the boat to you ourselves. We call ahead to set a meet-up, and since we do the unloading there is nothing for you to inspect or sign at the curb. Otherwise it ships LTL freight with a carrier running a 99.9% damage-free rate. On a freight delivery, look the boat over before you sign the receipt and write down any damage you see. That one step protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours. We email the full details once your order is placed.
