Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.

Kayak Shipments

We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.

If we hand deliver it

Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.

If it ships LTL freight

Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.

What we cover

Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.

Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.

The Pro Angler 12 is the full Hobie fishing platform on a hull you can still handle by yourself. Twelve feet, 36 inches wide, 500 lbs of capacity, and a deck laid out by people who fish rather than people who design boats.

Standing is the point. The hull is wide and flat enough that you fish upright all day, and the Vantage ST seat lifts you off the deck when you want to sit. Hobie publishes a seat height of 16.25 inches to the bar, which is chair height, not floor height.

The MirageDrive 180 does the work. Pedal forward, pull a cable, pedal the same direction and you go backwards at full power. Both hands stay on the rod the entire time. The Turbo fins carry more surface area than the standard ST fins, and the Kick-Up design means a log or a rock folds them back instead of bending a mast.

Rigging is already there. Six rod holders, a 12-sided H-Rail down both gunwales, a Guardian retractable transducer shield, a livewell-ready rear cargo area and a large rectangular hatch with a pivoting tackle management system. You are not drilling this boat to make it fish.

Pro Angler 12 or Pro Angler 14?

Length and capacity. The Pro Angler 14 is 20 inches longer, 2 inches wider and carries 600 lbs against this boat’s 500. It also weighs 15.5 lbs more fitted. Take the 12 if you load alone or fish tight water. Take the 14 if you fish big open water or carry a lot.

What is the difference between this and the Pro Angler 12 360?

The drive. This boat runs the MirageDrive 180, which gives you forward and full-power reverse. The Pro Angler 12 360 runs the 360 drive, which lets you push the boat in any direction on the compass without turning the hull. The 360 costs more and weighs a little more. Everything else about the two hulls is close.

What is the MirageDrive 180?

A pedal drive with two fins under the hull that you drive with your legs. The 180 part is reverse: Hobie’s own line is "full power reverse with the one and only MirageDrive 180", and it is instant. Pull a cable and the fins flip, so you back off a laydown or hold against current without picking up a paddle. The Turbo fins on this boat have more surface area than the standard ST fins.

What are Kick-Up Fins and do I need them?

They retract on their own when they hit something. Hobie’s description is blunt: "Logs, kelp, shallows, rocks, no problem." The fin folds back, then drops again once you are clear. Before Kick-Up fins, hitting a stump in skinny water is how you bent a mast. You do not order them separately, they come on this boat.

Can I really stand and fish in it?

Yes, and most Pro Angler owners do. The 36 inch beam and the flat standing area are what the boat is built around. Grip pads run the length of the deck so a wet hull does not put you in the water.

How do I move 128 lbs on my own?

A cart. The Boonedox Groovy Landing Gear is built specifically for the Pro Angler hull and it is what most owners here use. Trying to drag a loaded Pro Angler across a parking lot without one is how people give up on kayak fishing.

Do I need a fish finder mount?

It is already in the boat. The Guardian retractable transducer shield holds the transducer and protects it, and the H-Rail gives you a place for the head unit. No drilling.

What is the one mistake that voids the warranty?

Beaching the boat with the drive and rudder still down. Hobie lists it as an exclusion by name. Reach down, pull the MirageDrive up and flip the rudder before the hull touches sand or gravel. It takes two seconds and it is the single most common way people damage these boats.

Do I need a life jacket with it?

Yes, and the law requires one on board. The Old Town Outfitter Universal is a USCG Type III with a thin back cut so it sits flat against a high seat back.

How long is the Hobie warranty?

Hobie covers 3 years on 2019 and newer models against defects in materials, manufacturing and design. Hobie repairs or replaces at their discretion.

Who handles a warranty claim?

Hobie routes warranty claims through the authorized dealer you bought from, which is us. Within 30 days of finding a defect, bring the boat and your proof of purchase to us and we handle it from there. That is worth knowing before you buy a big boat from a marketplace seller with no dealer behind it.

What voids coverage?

Normal wear and discoloration, abuse, skipped maintenance, hitting submerged objects, mooring or storing the boat in the water, improper transport or storage, weather damage, modifications, and rental or commercial use. One exclusion catches people out: beaching the boat without retracting the MirageDrive and rudder first. Pull both up before you slide onto sand or gravel.

Two ways. If you are inside our delivery area, local delivery shows up as a shipping option at checkout and we bring the boat to you ourselves.
