Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.

Kayak Shipments

We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.

If we hand deliver it

Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.

If it ships LTL freight

Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.

What we cover

Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.

Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.

The 360 is the whole argument. A MirageDrive 180 runs forward and reverse along the line of the boat. The 360 rotates the drive itself, so you push the hull sideways or spin it in place without touching a paddle. On open water with wind on the beam, that is the difference between fishing a spot and drifting off it.

The 14 foot hull is the one to pick when you fish big water. It tracks and carries speed where a 12 footer gets pushed around, and 600 lbs of capacity covers a big angler with a full day of gear and still has room.

One thing to know before you buy. This is the previous-generation Pro Angler 360, not the current 360XR. Hobie has moved the line to the XR, so some figures published on their site now describe the XR rather than this boat. What does the 360 drive actually do?

It rotates. A MirageDrive 180 pushes you forward or backward along the line of the boat. The 360 turns the entire drive unit, so thrust can point any direction while the hull stays where it is. Hobie calls it moving "in every degree on the compass."

Is this the 360XR?

No. This is the previous-generation Pro Angler 360, not the current 360XR. Hobie has moved the line to the XR, so some figures published on their site now describe the XR rather than this boat. 14 foot 360 or 12 foot 360?

Water and load. This hull carries 100 lbs more and behaves better in wind and chop. The Pro Angler 12 360 is 20 inches shorter and easier to load, store and turn in tight water.

Is the 360 worth it over the 180?

If you fish moving water, wind, or tight structure where holding an exact position matters, yes. If you mostly cover water and cast, the Pro Angler 14 does the job on the same hull for a lot less money. Be honest about how you actually fish.

What are Kick-Up Fins?

Fins that retract by themselves when they hit something. Hobie’s own line is "Logs, kelp, shallows, rocks, no problem." The fin folds back on impact and drops again once you are clear, so a stump in skinny water does not bend a mast.

Can I stand in it?

Yes, and it is the most stable standing platform Hobie builds in this line. Thirty-eight inches of beam with a flat deck and grip pads.

How heavy is it to move?

Heavy enough that you want a cart. The Boonedox Groovy Landing Gear is made for the Pro Angler hull. The seat and drive both lift out, which cuts what you are carrying.

What is the one mistake that voids the warranty?

Beaching the boat with the drive and rudder still down. Hobie lists it as an exclusion by name. Pull the MirageDrive up and flip the rudder before the hull touches sand or gravel. Two seconds, and it is the most common way these boats get damaged.

Do I need a life jacket with it?

Yes, and the law requires one on board. The Old Town Outfitter Universal is a USCG Type III with a thin back cut for a high seat.

How long is the Hobie warranty?

Hobie covers 3 years on 2019 and newer models against defects in materials, manufacturing and design. Hobie repairs or replaces at their discretion.

Who handles a warranty claim?

Hobie routes warranty claims through the authorized dealer you bought from, which is us. Within 30 days of finding a defect, bring the boat and your proof of purchase to us and we handle it from there. That is worth knowing before you buy a big boat from a marketplace seller with no dealer behind it.

What voids coverage?

Normal wear and discoloration, abuse, skipped maintenance, hitting submerged objects, mooring or storing the boat in the water, improper transport or storage, weather damage, modifications, and rental or commercial use. One exclusion catches people out: beaching the boat without retracting the MirageDrive and rudder first. Pull both up before you slide onto sand or gravel.

How does the Hobie Pro Angler 14 360 ship?

Two ways. If you are inside our delivery area, local delivery shows up as a shipping option at checkout and we bring the boat to you ourselves. We call ahead to set a meet-up, and since we do the unloading there is nothing for you to inspect or sign at the curb. Otherwise it ships LTL freight with a carrier running a 99.9% damage-free rate.
