Shipping Damage Free Guarantee

Accessory Shipments

Paddles, PFDs, dry bags, helmets, skirts, motors, rod holders, and accessories ship UPS, FedEx, or USPS Ground.

It lands on your doorstep like any other package. We email tracking the day it leaves our shop.

Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.

Kayak Shipments

We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.

If we hand deliver it

Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.

If it ships LTL freight

Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.

What we cover

Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.

Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.

Drop your gear in the bag, fold down the closure and forget about it. NRS built the Tuff Sack for professional outfitters who run the same bags all season, every season, and that is the standard it is made to.

The body is 18 oz. PVC-Free TobaTex with welded seams — not stitched, welded, so there is no needle hole anywhere for water to find. The StormStrip closure system is exclusive to NRS; fold the top down, clip the heavy-duty plastic buckles, and the fold itself becomes the carry handle.

A D-ring on the quick-release buckle gives you a place to clip it, so the bag stays with the boat if the boat goes over.

Seven sizes, from 5 liters for a phone, a wallet and sunscreen up to 55 liters for a week of clothing. Most paddlers end up owning two or three.

Specifications

  • Material: 18 oz. PVC-Free TobaTex

  • 10L: 7.5" dia x 13.75" h · 0.60 lbs

Key Features

  • Welded Seams: No stitching means no needle holes. This is the difference between a dry bag and a water-resistant bag.
  • 18 oz. PVC-Free TobaTex: Heavy enough to take a season of being dragged over gravel, and PVC-free.
  • StormStrip Closure: Exclusive to NRS. Fold it down, clip the buckles, and it seals.
  • The Fold Is the Handle: The closed top doubles as a carry handle, so there is nothing extra to break off.
  • D-Ring on the Buckle: Clip the bag to the boat. A dry bag floating downstream without you is just litter.
  • Seven Sizes: From 5L for the essentials to 55L for a week off the grid.
  • Outfitter Grade: These are the bags commercial outfitters run all season, season after season.

NRS Tuff Sack Questions, Answered

Which size should I get?

For a phone, keys and sunscreen on a day paddle, 5L or 10L. For a change of clothes and lunch, 15L to 25L. For overnight gear, 35L or 45L. For a week off the grid, 55L. Most people end up with a small one for valuables and a big one for everything else.

Is it actually waterproof, or just water resistant?

Waterproof, and the welded seams are why. Stitching puts holes through the fabric; welding fuses it. Roll the StormStrip closure down properly and clip both buckles and the bag seals.

Will it float if it goes overboard?

A sealed dry bag with air trapped inside will generally float, but do not count on that as a plan. Clip it to the boat using the D-ring on the quick-release buckle. That is what the D-ring is for.

How many folds before I clip it?

Three is the standard for any roll-top style closure, and more is better if you have the room. The closure seals by pressing the two sides of the strip together, so give it enough folds to hold that pressure.

Can I put it in the bottom of the boat where it gets stepped on?

That is what 18 oz. TobaTex is for. It is a heavy fabric chosen for outfitter use, which means it lives in the bottom of rafts and kayaks and gets walked on all season.

How does it ship?

Ships parcel, nationwide. It packs down small enough to box, so it goes out as a standard ground shipment.
