Getting a Hobie Pro Angler from the truck to the water is the worst part of owning one. The boat is heavy, the parking lot is never close enough, and the usual answer — a scupper cart you have to flip the kayak onto — is a two-person job you may not have two people for.
The Boonedox Groovy Landing Gear Pro Angler Kit solves it by putting the wheels on permanently. The system mounts to the top of the hull, which means you never flip the boat to install it and you never flip it to use it. Swing the wheels down when you land, roll the kayak out of the water, then swing them up and stow them before you launch. They ride along with you, out of the way, for the rest of the day.
This is the Pro Angler version of the kit. It runs a PA Spacer Kit and larger 9-inch backing plates sized for the Pro Angler hull, and the geometry is set so the wheels give you enough ground clearance that your rudder is not dragging behind you on the way up the ramp.
Rated to 180 lbs on Railblaza No Flat Wheels. Nothing to inflate, nothing to puncture on a gravel bar.

Key Features
- No Flipping the Boat: The whole system mounts to the top of the hull. You never turn a loaded Pro Angler over to install it or to put it on wheels.
- One-Person Launch and Retrieval: This is the point of the kit. Land, drop the wheels, roll it out by yourself.
- Wheels Stow On Board: Swing them up before you launch and they come with you instead of waiting in the parking lot.
- Railblaza No Flat Wheels: Solid wheels with nothing to inflate and nothing to puncture on gravel, oyster shell or a hot parking lot.
- Rudder Clearance Built In: The leg geometry lifts the stern enough that the rudder is not dragging while you roll.
- 180 lb Capacity: Sized for a rigged Pro Angler, not a bare hull.
- Pro Angler Specific Hardware: The PA Spacer Kit and 9" backing plates are what separate this from the Standard kit.
- Aluminum Gussets: Four of them, spreading the load rather than concentrating it on a few points.
Boonedox Groovy Landing Gear Questions, Answered
What comes in the kit?
Two Groovy Knuckles, two Railblaza No Flat Wheels, two Standard Legs, four D-Clips, four aluminum gussets, one hardware pack, one bungee pack, one spacer bar, one PA Spacer Kit and two 9-inch backing plates. Everything needed for the install is in the box.
How does it attach to the kayak?
To the top of the hull, which is the whole idea — you never flip the boat over. The aluminum gussets and the 9-inch backing plates spread the load across the hull rather than putting it all in a few spots.
Do the wheels stay on while I fish?
Yes. Swing them up and stow them before you launch and they ride with you. That means no walking the cart back to the truck, and no cart sitting at the ramp waiting to disappear.
Will it drag my rudder?
No. The clearance is designed in — the legs lift the boat enough that the rudder stays off the ground while you are rolling it.
Can I really launch alone with this?
That is what it was built for. A rigged Pro Angler is a lot of boat for one person, and the reason most owners end up recruiting help is the flip onto a scupper cart. Take the flip out of it and a solo launch becomes realistic.
Do the tires go flat?
There is nothing to go flat. Railblaza No Flat Wheels are solid, so gravel bars, oyster shell and broken glass in a boat ramp parking lot are not a problem.
Is this the same as the Standard kit?
No. The frame is shared, but this kit ships with the PA Spacer Kit and larger 9-inch backing plates for the Pro Angler hull. The Standard kit uses 5-inch plates and stiffeners instead. If you have a Pro Angler, this is the one you want.
Which Pro Angler will it fit?
It is built for the Hobie Pro Angler line. Pro Angler hulls have changed over the years, so send us your model and year before you order and we will confirm the fit — email helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com.
How does it ship?
Ships parcel, nationwide. It packs down small enough to box, so it goes out as a standard ground shipment.
