Keeping A Level Head

Posted by Jonathan Myers on Feb 13th 2018

Over the past couple of years, my approach to fishing has changed significantly for the better. I’m not just talking about changing lures or the types of rods I use, or even the type of kayak that I’m fishing from. I’m really talking about my approach to fishing has changed, from a mental perspective. I have learned over the last couple of years, that fishing is just a game. In order for a fisherman to win at this game, he or she needs to learn how to adapt to a multitude of different situations. Also, a fisherman needs to keep a level head so they can think about what they are doing. When the fishing is slow it’s easy to get frustrated, and it’s even easier to give up. But, if you just step back and focus and think about what needs to be changed, your day can turn around real quick. I truly believe that staying focused and relaxed will lead to much better days on the water. So the next time you’re on the water and the fishing is slow, and you feel frustration setting in. Always remember to clear your head of the negative vibes, and reevaluate the situation. This will almost always lead to the turnaround of any day on the water.
