With the trend in price-point fishing kayaks tending towards compromise in hull quality, performance, gear management, and comfort, Jackson Kayak's new Bite doesn't cut corners. With an 11'3" hull designed by Jackson Kayak's top hull design team and at a class-leading 35" in width, the Bite performs to the paddle-ability and stand-ability standards you are used to in a Jackson Kayak. It is estimated at under 68 lbs making it easy to manage in and out of the water. The Bite's comfort was not skimped on either, with the addition of a brand-new trimmable, framed seating system and plenty of room to stand comfortably. The open-concept deck has been long-awaited from Jackson, giving the paddler ample storage space fore and aft along with a system of touring-style bungie cords. The deck features numerous storage placeholders for standard-sized tackle boxes. Jackson Kayak has also included their popular flush-mounted rod holders, as well as long-awaited integrated recessed cup holders, gear tracks on both sides, adjustable foot braces and a hog trough recess to make the Bite a full-featured kayak.

  • Length: 11' 3"
  • Width: 35"
  • Height: 15"
  • Weight: 64 lbs (69 lbs w/seat)
  • Capacity: 400 lbs

Ordered Monday afternoon and it was delivered in perfect shape Thursday afternoon. I will take it to the water next weekend. Exactly what I wanted. Love the open concept, the price for a Jackson is great, and the service was the best. Can’t say enough about Caney Fork Outfitters.

I purchased my Bite at the 2019 Waterpalooza, but it took me a while before I was able to get it into the water. This kayak will be great for what I want. It tracks well and is stable. It holds the gear I need. I've stood in it while launching and I need to practice standing more. This is not a fast kayak. You will work hard to cover a lot of water. But I knew that going in. You really need to test out different lengths of paddles though. I'm 6'3" and thought I needed a 250cm, but when paddling I noticed too much of my paddle was going in the water so I would probably have been ok with a 240cm, but I can live with it. Especially if I ever takethe seat out and put in a cooler to sit on. People have complained about the seat, but I have not found it to be uncomfortable. Just make sure you tighten the straps in the back and seat-bottom as tight as you can get it. And check them before each trip. My purpose for using the Bite will be to paddle down the banks near the launch sites and for floating down small rivers and creeks. Hopefully I will get a chance to test it out on the inshore flats in Florida.

We bought the Bite after searching for a Superfishal. It’s basically like owning a truck. You can do everything you want to do with it. Fish, cruise, relax, whatever. You can not flip this kayak. Tons of usable storage and you can stand easily.
