Shipping Damage Free Guarantee

Accessory Shipments

Paddles, PFDs, dry bags, helmets, skirts, motors, rod holders, and accessories ship UPS, FedEx, or USPS Ground.

It lands on your doorstep like any other package. We email tracking the day it leaves our shop.

Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.

Kayak Shipments

We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.

If we hand deliver it

Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.

If it ships LTL freight

Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.

What we cover

Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.

Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.

The Apex Watercraft Rebound Medium Whitewater Kayak is a carbon fiber freestyle kayak that weighs 17.9 pounds. It is an all-around playboat rather than a boat that does one trick well. Apex tested it on flatwater, in small holes, in big holes, on waves and downriver, and built it to hold up in all of them.

On a wave it feels fast and loose. It carries speed, stays predictable on the face and releases cleanly when you want to carve or transition. In holes, small and large, it stays forgiving and controllable. It resurfaces smoothly, picks up easily and keeps its balance without feeling locked in. Downriver is where it shines: linking features, setting up kickflips and holding vertical balance all come naturally because the boat accelerates fast and responds instantly.

The Medium is 5 feet 7 inches long, the shortest medium freestyle kayak ever produced. Shorter means quicker rotation, easier initiation and less energy spent getting the same move. Length used to be the assumed route to speed. Apex got the speed out of hull shape and volume placement instead.

Contact points were the priority in the design. Pads and seats can be swapped, but knee, foot, seat and hip geometry cannot, so Apex shaped those to fit a wide range of body types. You notice it late in a long session, when comfort decides whether you keep paddling or call it. Every Apex hull is handcrafted by Nelo in Portugal.

Apex Watercraft Rebound Medium Questions, Answered

What size paddler is the Rebound Medium built for?

140 to 185 pounds is the published range, and Apex says it comfortably serves roughly 135 to 190 depending on how you like to paddle. Sitting lighter in the boat gets you more air and more retentiveness. Sitting near the top of the range makes play easier. Call us at (615) 696-7887 if you are on the edge of the range.

How long is it, and why does the length matter?

5 feet 7 inches, which makes it the shortest medium freestyle kayak ever produced. Shorter rotates quicker, initiates easier and takes less energy to get the same move. Apex found the speed in the hull shape and volume placement rather than in extra length.

Is the Rebound only for competition freestyle?

No. It was built as an all-around freestyle kayak, tested on waves, in holes, downriver and on flatwater. It is forgiving enough for a developing paddler and capable enough for advanced moves.

Can I run rivers in it, or is it a park-and-play boat?

You can run rivers in it. Downriver is where Apex says it stands out. It accelerates quickly, feels light under you and links features at speed. It is a freestyle hull, so it is not a creek boat, but it handles a river run.

Will it help me learn freestyle?

Yes. Cartwheels, stalls, spins and transitions all take less effort in this boat, and most of those fundamentals get learned on flatwater. Less effort per attempt means more attempts per session.

How does the outfitting fit?

Apex designed the knee, foot, seat and hip interface to accommodate a wide range of body types. Pads and seats are adjustable, but the core contact points are molded into the boat, so those were the priority. It shows up on long sessions.

Will a carbon kayak hold up?

Carbon is built for years of hard use, and damage is repairable rather than permanent. Apex sells a carbon repair kit for that reason. Straight answer: on a river with constant sharp rock impacts, plastic still makes sense. Everywhere else carbon is the better boat.

How does the Rebound ship?

Two ways. If you are inside our delivery area, local delivery shows up as a shipping option at checkout and we bring the boat to you ourselves. We call ahead to set a meet-up, and since we do the unloading there is nothing for you to inspect or sign at the curb. Otherwise it ships LTL freight with a carrier running a 99.9% damage-free rate. On a freight delivery, look the boat over before you sign the receipt and write down any damage you see. That one step protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours. We email the full details once your order is placed.
