Shipping Damage Free Guarantee

Accessory Shipments

Paddles, PFDs, dry bags, helmets, skirts, motors, rod holders, and accessories ship UPS, FedEx, or USPS Ground.

It lands on your doorstep like any other package. We email tracking the day it leaves our shop.

Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.

Kayak Shipments

We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.

If we hand deliver it

Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.

If it ships LTL freight

Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.

What we cover

The Badfish Custom Kayak Paddle adjusts for both length and offset, which is the part most budget paddles skip. Two paddlers of different heights can share one paddle and both get a fit that works, and you can dial the blade angle to what your shoulders actually want.

Length runs from 240cm to 260cm. The grip area is laser etched for reference, so once you find your setting you can return to it instead of guessing every time. The blade is fiberglass reinforced nylon, which takes rock strikes and pushing off gravel bars without complaint.

It breaks into two pieces for travel and storage, and it suits recreational kayaks and fishing kayaks on rivers and lakes alike.

Badfish Custom Kayak Paddle Questions, Answered

What length should I set it to?

Boat width and your height both matter. Wider boats and taller paddlers need more length. Start near the middle of the 240-260cm range, paddle it, and adjust. That is the advantage of an adjustable paddle over a fixed one, and the etched grip means you can get back to what worked.

What is offset and do I care?

Offset is the angle between the two blades. It reduces wind resistance on the recovering blade and changes how your wrist rolls through the stroke. Most paddlers settle somewhere between zero and 45 degrees. If you have never thought about it, run it flat and try a little angle later.

Will it work on a fishing kayak?

Yes, that is one of the boats Badfish sizes it for. Fishing kayaks are wide, which is exactly why the adjustment to 260cm matters. Too short a paddle on a wide boat means knuckles on the gunwale all day.

Is the nylon blade going to hold up?

It is fiberglass reinforced nylon, which is the standard for paddles that get used hard on rivers. It is heavier than carbon and it will not snap when you push off a rock, which is the right trade for a recreational or fishing paddle.

Can two people share it?

That is the point of the adjustment. Two paddlers of different heights can each set it where they want, which makes it a good single paddle for a household or a spare in the truck.

Does it float?

Do not count on it. Any paddle you care about on moving water should be leashed or kept in hand. A dropped paddle in current is gone faster than you would think.
