Shipping Damage Free Guarantee

Accessory Shipments

Paddles, PFDs, dry bags, helmets, skirts, motors, rod holders, and accessories ship UPS, FedEx, or USPS Ground.

It lands on your doorstep like any other package. We email tracking the day it leaves our shop.

Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.

Kayak Shipments

We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.

If we hand deliver it

Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.

If it ships LTL freight

Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.

What we cover

Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.

Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.

Bending Branches Warranty

Paddles

Bending Branches guarantees its paddles against manufacturing defects for two years from the date of purchase.

  • Coverage: 2 years from the date of purchase.
  • What it covers: Defects in materials and workmanship. Bending Branches reviews each case and decides what qualifies.
  • How a claim is handled: Repair or replacement. Bending Branches states it honors all reasonable requests.

Wood paddles: a worn-looking Rockgard tip is normal

Every wood paddle is hand dipped in varnish four times, then the drip residue is burnished off the tip. That can leave the Rockgard tip looking worn, and it shows up most on the black tips. It is normal and does not affect how the paddle performs.

Filing a claim

Warranty claims are handled by Bending Branches. Submit yours on their warranty page with photos and a description of the issue, and a Bending Branches representative will respond with next steps.

File a claim and read Bending Branches' full warranty policy.

The Angler Classic is the number one best-selling kayak fishing paddle Bending Branches makes, and it has been the tried-and-true pick in the line for years.

The blade is smoother, larger and stronger than the version it replaced, which puts more horsepower and control behind every stroke. You get a smoother forward stroke with a stiffer feel, quieter entry and exit, and less chance of flutter. The fiberglass and nylon blade material is stronger and thicker, and the fiberglass-reinforced nylon is designed for forgiveness with just the right amount of flex, so the kayak keeps moving efficiently even with extra gear slowing you down.

The 100% fiberglass shaft is durable and strong, and lighter than commodity aluminum. Fiberglass is also warm in the hands, and more flexible and forgiving than aluminum. The shaft is ovalized where your hands go for comfort, control and fewer blisters. A carbon ferrule insert keeps the joint light and tight, which is a sizable upgrade over plastic or glass inserts.

Bending Branches Angler Classic Questions, Answered

Why is the Angler Classic the best seller?

It sits at the point where the price and the paddle make the most sense for most kayak anglers. You get the full angler package, the hook retrieval system and the tape measure, on a fiberglass shaft that is lighter and warmer than aluminum, without paying for a carbon shaft you may not need.

What does fiberglass do that aluminum does not?

Three things, per Bending Branches. It is lighter than commodity aluminum, so it drains less of your energy. It is warm, which matters on a cold morning when aluminum pulls the heat out of your hands. And it is more flexible and forgiving, so the shaft takes some of the shock instead of passing all of it to you.

What changed on the newer blade?

It got smoother, larger and stronger. That means more horsepower and control per stroke, a stiffer feel, quieter entry and exit, and less chance of flutter. The fiberglass and nylon material was upgraded to be stronger and thicker, which makes it more durable long-term.

Is a flexible blade a bad thing?

Not here. Bending Branches builds the fiberglass-reinforced nylon blade for forgiveness with just the right amount of flex, which keeps a gear-loaded kayak moving efficiently. Stiffer is more efficient on paper. Forgiving is easier on your body over a long day, and it is what a durable fishing blade is supposed to feel like.

How does the hook retrieval system work?

It is built into the blade. When a lure ends up somewhere you cannot reach, you use it to work the lure free instead of breaking off. Every paddle in the Bending Branches angler line carries one.

Can I use the tape measure to check a legal fish?

Not officially. Bending Branches states it is a sizing guide, not an official measuring tool for competitive angling or for determining the legality of a catch, and the printing can vary in accuracy from the manufacturing process. Use it for a quick check on the water.

How does it ship?

Ships parcel, nationwide. It breaks down into two pieces and boxes up, so it goes out as a standard ground shipment.
