Paddles, PFDs, dry bags, helmets, skirts, motors, rod holders, and accessories ship UPS, FedEx, or USPS Ground.
It lands on your doorstep like any other package. We email tracking the day it leaves our shop.
Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.
Kayak Shipments
We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.
If we hand deliver it
Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.
If it ships LTL freight
Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.
What we cover
Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.
Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.
Bonafide Kayak Warranty
Kayaks and Drives
- Hulls: Limited lifetime against manufacturing defects, plus 5 years against normal wear and tear as determined by the Bonafide warranty team.
- Who it covers: Original retail customer. Grade 2 cosmetically blemished kayaks carry the same coverage.
- Components: 1 year from the original date of purchase.
- Propel pedal drive: 5 years from the purchase date against defects in workmanship and materials.
- Rental, livery or demo use: 1 year on the hull and all components.
Register within 14 days
Bonafide requires you to register your kayak, and your Propel drive if it has one, on the Bonafide website within 14 days of purchase for the warranty to activate. Keep your sales receipt as proof of purchase.
Not covered
Normal wear and color discoloration, structural or dimensional alterations, damage from improper storage or transport including ratchet straps, damage from winching the boat onto a trailer, use the kayak was not designed for, rental or commercial service, and color variation between boats. On the Propel drive, also skipped maintenance, transporting the kayak with the drive still in it, non-approved lubricants, and crank arms tightened past 26 ft/lb.
Filing a claim
Bonafide requires every warranty claim to come through the dealer you bought from. That is us, so we handle it. Email helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com with your proof of purchase, the model, the kayak and Propel serial numbers, a description of the issue, and photos or video. We submit it to Bonafide and follow it through.
Description
The Bonafide XTR140P is the biggest boat Bonafide builds, and it is not close. Fourteen feet long, forty inches wide, eighteen inches deep, rated to 725 pounds. Those four numbers are the entire pitch, and every one of them changes what you can do on the water.
Start with the beam. Forty inches is wider than most anglers have ever stood on in a kayak, and the difference is immediate. You are not managing your balance and then fishing. You stand up, you stay up, and your attention goes to the water instead of to your feet. Pole it across a flat, work a jig straight down, fight a fish over the side — the deck underneath you does not argue. Boat wake and afternoon chop that would have you sitting back down in a narrower hull barely register here.
The eighteen inches of depth is the part nobody talks about until they need it. High sides mean freeboard, and freeboard means spray stays outside the boat. On open lake water with wind against you, that is the difference between a good day and a wet one. Combine it with the fourteen-foot waterline and you get a hull that tracks straight, holds its speed, and does not wander every time a gust hits the bow.
Then there is the 725-pound capacity. This is the number that quietly decides how you fish. A trolling motor, the battery to run it, a graph and its transducer, a full crate of tackle, a cooler, a landing net, two rods you are not even going to use — load all of it and the XTR140P still sits high and handles like it is empty. What is the difference between the two options in the dropdown?
The pedal drive. One configuration ships with the X Range 801 Propel Drive installed, the other ships without it. The hull, the dimensions, the deck layout and the capacity are identical between them — you are choosing whether the boat comes with pedals, not choosing a different kayak.
What does the X Range 801 Propel Drive do?
It turns the kayak into a hands-free boat. Your feet drive it, so both hands stay on the rod through the cast, the fight and the landing. It is the difference between putting a rod down to reposition and simply repositioning while you keep fishing.
Which configuration should I buy?
Take the drive if you fish moving water, cover a lot of shoreline, or want to hold a position without anchoring. Take it without the drive if you plan to run a trolling motor, if you mostly paddle, or if you want the lower entry price and the option to rig it your own way.
Can I add the drive later?
The X Range 801 Propel Drive is sold on its own. Give us a call or email helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com and we will confirm current availability and fitment for your hull before you buy anything.
How stable is it really?
Forty inches wide over a fourteen-foot waterline is about as stable as a fishing kayak gets. Anglers stand and fish on it all day, including in wind and in boat wake. If standing up in a kayak has been the thing stopping you, this is the hull that removes the excuse.
Can I still paddle it?
Yes, in either configuration. It takes a paddle like any sit-on-top, and most anglers running a drive or a motor keep one aboard for shallow water and as a backup.
How much does it weigh, and can I load it by myself?
170 lbs bare and about 185 lbs rigged. Be honest with yourself about this one — it is a two-person lift or a trailer boat, not something to wrestle onto a roof rack alone. A cart with large wheels is worth every penny for anything past the parking lot.
Can I run a trolling motor and a full electronics package on it?
Yes, and the capacity is the reason. 725 lbs leaves real headroom for a motor, a battery, a graph and a transducer on top of you and your gear, so nothing about the rigging forces you to leave something behind.
What kind of water is this boat for?
Big water. Open lakes, large rivers, tidal flats and bays — anywhere the length, the freeboard and the tracking pay off. If you fish small ponds and tight creek arms almost exclusively, a shorter hull will serve you better.
