Foot control, no cables. The Garmin Force Current with Power Steer Foot Pedals is a kayak trolling motor run from wireless left and right pedals that handle both steering and throttle. Both hands stay on the rod while you troll a ledge, hold a seam or work a shoreline.

It puts out 50 lbs of thrust at 24 V and 30 lbs at 12 V from a brushless motor that stays quiet above and below the surface. Full forward and reverse thrust turns the boat in its own length, which is what you need in flooded timber, tight creek arms and grass beds on a lake or river. Two propellers come in the box: a high-efficiency prop for run time and a weedless prop for vegetation.

Anchor lock and bow lock use multi-band GPS to hold your spot and your heading in wind or current. Pair it with a Garmin chartplotter and the motor follows a route you draw while you fish, or control it from a compatible Garmin smartwatch. The included man overboard tag cuts the motor if it detects you have gone in the water.

How much thrust does the Garmin Force Current have?

50 lbs of thrust on a 24 V system and 30 lbs on 12 V, measured to ISO 13342 with the high-efficiency propeller. The motor runs on either voltage.

Do the foot pedals come with it?

Yes. This is the version with Power Steer foot pedals, and the left and right pedals ship in the box along with rail mounts and kickstands. Each pedal runs on 2 AA batteries and a set lasts a full season.

Will it fit my kayak?

It uses a 4-hole tilt mount, the pattern most kayaks are drilled for, and it mounts at the stern. The shaft adjusts from 11.4" to 16.6" measured from the mount to the top of the drive motor. Check your kayak's mounting pattern and deck height against those numbers before you order.

What battery do I need to run it?

It runs on 12 V or 24 V and the battery is sold separately. A 24 V setup gets you the full 50 lbs of thrust. A 12 V setup gets 30 lbs.

Does the Force Current hold position in current?

Anchor lock and bow lock run on multi-band GPS, which is the most precise positioning Garmin builds. It holds both your spot and the direction the kayak is pointed. Anchor lock jog lets you move a short distance and stay locked.

Do I need a Garmin chartplotter to use it?
