Shipping Damage Free Guarantee

Accessory Shipments

Paddles, PFDs, dry bags, helmets, skirts, motors, rod holders, and accessories ship UPS, FedEx, or USPS Ground.

It lands on your doorstep like any other package. We email tracking the day it leaves our shop.

Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.

Kayak Shipments

We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.

If we hand deliver it

Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.

If it ships LTL freight

Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.

What we cover

Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.

Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.

The Revolution 13 is the distance boat. Thirteen feet five inches on a 28.5 inch beam, which is the narrowest hull Hobie builds in this group, and that is exactly why it goes.

Long and narrow is the shape that holds a line and carries speed. If your water is a big lake, a bay, or a river you run for miles rather than fish in one hole, this hull does more with the same effort than anything wider. 70.5 lbs fitted, 350 lbs of capacity.

It runs the MirageDrive 180 with Kick-Up fin technology and ARC cranks, with the Twist and Stow rudder that retracts into the hull. The Vantage CT seat handles the long days.

It is the one boat in this group with a built-in transducer mount and Hobie’s Lowrance Ready system, plus a sail and bimini mount. Dual rod holders, a large bow hatch, an 8 inch twist and seal hatch and a rear cargo area.

Key Features

  • 28.5 in Beam: The narrowest hull here. Long and narrow is the shape that carries speed and holds a line.
  • 13 ft 5 in Waterline: Built for distance. It keeps going where a short wide boat is already working hard.
  • Lowrance Ready: A built-in transducer mount, so a fish finder goes in without cutting the hull.
  • MirageDrive 180: Full-power reverse from the pedals.
  • Kick-Up Fins: Retract on impact and reset once you are past.
  • Twist and Stow Rudder: Retracts into the hull. Nothing hanging off the stern to break on a landing.
  • Vantage CT Seat: Recline and height adjust. This is a boat you sit in for hours.
  • Sail and Bimini Mount: Take a sail, or take shade. On a long open-water day both are worth having.
  • 350 lb Capacity: 75 lbs more than the Revolution 11, which matters on a multi-day or a loaded day.

Hobie Revolution 13 Questions, Answered

Revolution 13 or Revolution 11?

Distance against handling. This hull is two feet longer, carries 75 lbs more and tracks noticeably better in wind and chop. The Hobie Revolution 11 is 6.5 lbs lighter, turns tighter and is easier to store. Long open water goes to the 13.

Can I stand up in it?

No, and do not plan on it. At 28.5 inches this is the narrowest boat here. It is built to go, not to stand on. If you want a standing platform, the Hobie Outback or a Pro Angler is the hull you want.

Is this a fishing kayak?

It fishes well seated. It is the only boat in this group with a built-in transducer mount and the Lowrance Ready system, and it carries two rod holders. What it does not have is a standing deck, an H-Rail or a Guardian shield. It is a touring hull that fishes, not a fishing platform.

What does the 180 in MirageDrive 180 mean?

Reverse. Pull a cable and the fins flip through 180 degrees, so pedaling the same way drives you backwards at full power. It is how you back off a snag or hold against current without picking up the paddle.

What are Kick-Up Fins?

Fins that retract by themselves on impact. Hobie’s own line is "Logs, kelp, shallows, rocks, no problem." The fin folds back when it hits something and drops again once you are past.

How do I mount a fish finder?

The transducer mount is already built into the hull and Hobie designed it around Lowrance units. No drilling required.

What is the bimini mount for?

Shade. On an open-water boat you might be out for five or six hours with nowhere to hide. The same vertical mount takes a sail rig.

Is 70.5 lbs manageable alone?

Yes for most people with a rack and reasonable technique. Pull the seat and the drive first. The awkward part is the 13 ft 5 in of length, not the weight.

What is the one mistake that voids the warranty?

Beaching the boat with the drive and rudder still down. Hobie lists it as an exclusion by name. Pull the MirageDrive up and flip the rudder before the hull touches sand or gravel.

Do I need a life jacket with it?

Yes, and the law requires one on board. The Old Town Outfitter Universal is a USCG Type III with a thin back cut for a seat back.

How long is the Hobie warranty?

Hobie covers 3 years on 2019 and newer models against defects in materials, manufacturing and design. Hobie repairs or replaces at their discretion.

Who handles a warranty claim?

Hobie routes warranty claims through the authorized dealer you bought from, which is us. Within 30 days of finding a defect, bring the boat and your proof of purchase to us and we handle it from there. That is worth knowing before you buy a big boat from a marketplace seller with no dealer behind it.

What voids coverage?

Normal wear and discoloration, abuse, skipped maintenance, hitting submerged objects, mooring or storing the boat in the water, improper transport or storage, weather damage, modifications, and rental or commercial use. One exclusion catches people out: beaching the boat without retracting the MirageDrive and rudder first. Pull both up before you slide onto sand or gravel.

How does the Hobie Revolution 13 ship?

Two ways. If you are inside our delivery area, local delivery shows up as a shipping option at checkout and we bring the boat to you ourselves. We call ahead to set a meet-up, and since we do the unloading there is nothing for you to inspect or sign at the curb. Otherwise it ships LTL freight with a carrier running a 99.9% damage-free rate. On a freight delivery, look the boat over before you sign the receipt and write down any damage you see. That one step protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours. We email the full details once your order is placed.
