The Jackson Kayak Happy Seat Magnum is an inflatable bladder that sits under your legs, just in front of your existing seat. Inflate it for lift under your thighs. Jackson Kayak builds it to do two things: improve your control and take pressure off your knees, hips and buttocks.
Magnum is the bigger version. It is wider and taller than the original Happy Seat, sized for the larger kayaks being built now. It fits the Antix 3.0, the Rockstar 5, and the large sizes of most kayaks on the water.
Installation takes a couple of minutes and no tools. A cord ties the front to your floor support. Velcro straps wrap the back around your seat. How much lift you get is up to you. Add air for more, let some out for less.

What does the Happy Seat Magnum actually do?
It is an inflatable bladder that sits under your legs, in front of your seat. Inflating it lifts your thighs. That gives you better contact with the kayak for control, and it takes pressure off your knees, hips and buttocks on long days.
What is the difference between the Magnum and the original Happy Seat?
Size. The Magnum is wider and taller. Kayaks got bigger, so the Magnum was built to fill the larger cockpits. If you paddle an Antix 3.0, a Rockstar 5, or a large size of just about anything, the Magnum is the one that fits.
Which kayaks does it fit?
It is made for Jackson Kayak whitewater kayaks, sized for larger playboats like the Antix 3.0 and the Rockstar 5, plus the large sizes of most kayak models. Fit varies kayak to kayak. If you are not sure about yours, call us at (615) 696-7887 and we will check it.
How does it install?
Two attachment points, no tools. The included cord ties the front to your floor support. Velcro straps wrap the back around your seat. Nothing gets drilled and nothing on your kayak changes.
Can I adjust how much lift it gives?
Yes. Lift is set by how much air you put in it. Add air to raise your thighs, let some out to drop them. Adjust it on the water until it feels right.
Does it make it harder to get out of the kayak?
It takes up space in your cockpit, so treat that seriously. Jackson Kayak's guidance is to make sure it does not block your exit, always attach it securely with the provided cord before you paddle, and only use it if you are confident you can get out of your kayak quickly. Practice a wet exit with it installed before you run anything.
Will it work in a kayak that is not a Jackson?
It is designed around Jackson Kayak cockpits, and that is where the fit is confirmed. Paddlers do run it in other kayaks with large cockpits, but we cannot promise the fit outside the Jackson line. Call us before you order if that is your situation.
