Jackson Kayak iCast 2015 preview

With the conclusion of Icast 2015, there is much to be anticipated in the “kayak world” in 2016. As always, Jackson Kayak was at Icast 2015 to introduce new kayak models. They previewed many new innovations and upgrades to previous models. The new additions to the Jackson fleet include: The Kilroy DT (Delta Tango), Kilroy LT, Skipper, Kraken 13.5, the Coosa HD, Big Rig, and Kraken pro models. These new models will come equipped with lots of upgrades, and user friendly features. The Kilroy DT is one of the new models that debuted at Icast 2015. This new model will feature a tandem set up, as well as a single person set up, much like the previous Jackson Big Tuna. Jackson also showed off their Kilroy LT models. This Kilroy is thermoformed which makes the boat stiffer and lighter.

The Skipper was also introduced. This is Jacksons first “kid friendly” kayak. The Skipper will include all of the great features found on the larger fishing kayaks in the Jackson fleet, but will also come in a more “kid friendly” size. Jackson’s original ocean kayak, the Kraken, will be getting a more downsized version for 2016 with the Kraken 13.5. This more downsized version of the Kraken will still include all of the great features as the original, but in a more nimble package. Also, new for 2016, Jackson will be introducing new trim levels for the Coosa HD, Big Rig and Kraken. Dubbed the “pro” models, these will come fully loaded with all of the standard features of the original boats. However, they will also feature many new accessories; Raymarine Dragonfly fish finder, Nocqua Pro Power Pack water proof battery, Power Pole Micro Anchor, and much more.

Not only has Jackson Kayak added new boats to their fleet, they will also will be adding some exciting new features to their fishing kayaks with the introduction of the Elite Seat 3.0 This seat has the same great features of the 2.0, but with some upgrades. Jackson has teamed up with Seal Line this year to create a larger water proof storage system for the back of the new seat. This addition will be great for keeping things high and dry. The new Elite Seat 3.0 will also feature a line cutting system mounted to the seat, and a pair of fish grips will come standard with all fishing kayak models. 2016 is already looking promising for Jackson Kayak and kayak enthusiast alike. There will be many more details coming out about these kayaks in the upcoming months.
