NuCanoe Pursuit Review

Posted by Kevin McCullough on Jul 15th 2015

I’ve had the NuCanoe Pursuit out on the water a few times now and figure it is time for a review. Before the Pursuit all of my kayak fishing has been from a NuCanoe Frontier 12 footer and 10 footer so my comparisons are based off comparing the Pursuit to the Frontier.

The first thing I noticed on the Pursuit is all of the room it has. The deck is wide open allowing you to set it up the way you want. I carry way too much stuff but with the four internal rod holders and the two flush rod holders I can carry six rods out of the way. I can also strap down my cooler or tackle bag behind me with straps. Once everything is put in its place the deck is wide open.

Next I noticed how easy it was to paddle. I could maintain a speed of 3 mph pretty easy and got up to 4.2 mph based off my fish finder. The Pursuit does not have a rudder but I did not notice any back in forth and did not have to repeat paddle strokes on the same side.

Stability of the Pursuit is very good. If you compare it to a Frontier you’ll notice it is less stable but I had no problem standing and fishing or paddling. Once I got use to the different feel from the Frontier I have spent a lot of time fishing and paddling from the standing position.

The NuCanoe Pursuit can be purchased from either Caney Fork Outdoors store. I got most of the accessories with mine which can also be bought from CFO. Below is a link to a few video to help show off the Pursuit.
