The Tennessee Kayak Anglers will be hosting their second tournament of the 2014 season on Saturday July 19, 2014 on Old Hickory Lake. This will be a lake-wide tournament with anglers choosing where on the lake they would like to fish. There will be a mandatory captains’ meeting at 5:30 AM at Shutes Branch Recreation Area at 5201 Saundersville Rd, Old Hickory, TN 37138. This will also be the location for the anglers to check in by 1:00 PM with photos of their catches so they may be scored and prizes awarded.

Old Hickory Lake is known to hold some very nice bass so this should be a very good tournament. As I have described before, kayak fishing tournaments have a very relaxed vibe and are great even for newcomers to the sport. Even if you do not intend to participate in the tournament, come out and join us at the 1:00PM check-in. It will be a great opportunity to see what the fast growing sport of kayak fishing is all about. The anglers there will be glad to let you check out their kayaks, offer advice and answer questions on how to get started in the sport.

Caney Fork Outdoors is a proud sponsor of the Tennessee Kayak Anglers 2014 Tournament Series and will be providing two prizes at each TKA event. One lucky winner will receive a complimentary canoe or kayak rental for two people on the Caney Fork River. Another lucky winner will receive a two night stay for two people in one of the Caney Fork Outdoors cabins.
