Shipping Damage Free Guarantee
Accessory Shipments
Paddles, PFDs, dry bags, helmets, skirts, motors, rod holders, and accessories ship UPS, FedEx, or USPS Ground.
It lands on your doorstep like any other package. We email tracking the day it leaves our shop.
Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.
Kayak Shipments
We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.
If we hand deliver it
Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.
If it ships LTL freight
Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.
What we cover
Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.
Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.
The Oasis is Hobie’s full-size tandem. Fourteen feet six inches, 550 lbs of capacity, and two MirageDrive 180 units so both people pedal and both people get full-power reverse.
Length is what separates it from the shorter tandems. At 14 6 on a 33 inch beam it tracks and carries speed rather than wallowing, which is what you want when there are two adults and a day of gear aboard. It is rated for 1 to 2 crew, so one person can take it out alone.
Both positions get Vantage CT seating, the adjustable-recline-and-height seat from the Revolution boats, each rated to 275 lbs. There is a large Twist and Stow rudder run by T-shaped handles, a large bow hatch, an 8 inch twist and seal hatch, mesh stowage, a cup holder, a rod holder, a sail mount and a rear cargo area.

Key Features
- Two MirageDrive 180 Units: Both positions pedal, and both get full-power reverse. A tandem with one drive makes one person a passenger.
- 550 lb Capacity: Two adults plus a real day of gear, with 275 lbs allowed at each seat.
- 14 ft 6 in Hull: Length is what makes a loaded tandem track instead of wander.
- Vantage CT Seating: Recline angle and height adjust at both positions. These are the seats from the Revolution boats.
- Large Twist and Stow Rudder: Oversized for the length, and it stows into the hull. T-handles engage and disengage it.
- Kick-Up Fins: Retract on impact and reset. Standard ST fins, upgradeable to ST Turbo.
- Can Run Solo: Rated 1 to 2 crew, so it still works on the days nobody else turns up.
- Sail Mount: Take a rig and stop pedaling when the wind is behind you.
- Large Bow Hatch: In-hull storage that two people actually need.
Hobie Oasis Questions, Answered
Oasis or Compass Duo?
Size and seating. The Oasis is a foot longer, carries 75 lbs more, runs two MirageDrive 180 units and uses the adjustable Vantage CT seats. The Hobie Compass Duo is 38 lbs lighter fitted, costs less, and runs one MirageDrive 180 plus one GT. Long days and big loads go to the Oasis. Easier handling and a lower price go to the Duo.
Oasis or iTrek 14 Duo?
Hardshell against inflatable. The Hobie iTrek 14 Duo is 73 lbs rigged, packs into a wheeled bag and carries 600 lbs. The Oasis is a rigid hull that tracks better and does not need inflating, but it is 130 lbs rigged and needs somewhere to live. Storage space usually decides this one.
Can one person paddle it?
Yes. Hobie rates it for 1 to 2 crew. On the water it handles fine solo. Loading 130 lbs of rigged boat onto a vehicle alone is the harder half of the problem.
Do both seats pedal?
Yes, two full MirageDrive 180 units. Both people pedal, both get reverse.
What are ST fins and should I upgrade?
ST fins are the standard Kick-Up fins. ST Turbo fins add surface area and mast length, which gives you more push per stroke. On a loaded tandem the Turbos are the upgrade most owners end up wanting. They are not required.
What are Kick-Up Fins?
Fins that retract by themselves on impact. Hobie’s own line is "Logs, kelp, shallows, rocks, no problem." The fin folds back when it hits something and drops again once you are past.
How do we move 130 lbs?
A cart, and ideally two people. The Suspenz All-Terrain Super Duty Airless Cart handles the weight and the ground between the truck and the water.
Is it stable enough to fish from?
Thirty-three inches of beam across 14 ft 6 in is stable seated, and it comes with a rod holder and a sail mount. It is a touring tandem that fishes, not a standing fishing platform.
What is the one mistake that voids the warranty?
Beaching the boat with the drive and rudder still down. Hobie lists it as an exclusion by name. Pull the MirageDrive up and flip the rudder before the hull touches sand or gravel.
How many life jackets do we need?
One wearable per person on board, and the law requires it. The Old Town Outfitter Universal covers a 30 to 56 inch chest, which makes it the sensible spare to keep aboard for whoever shows up.
How long is the Hobie warranty?
Hobie covers 3 years on 2019 and newer models against defects in materials, manufacturing and design. Hobie repairs or replaces at their discretion.
Who handles a warranty claim?
Hobie routes warranty claims through the authorized dealer you bought from, which is us. Within 30 days of finding a defect, bring the boat and your proof of purchase to us and we handle it from there. That is worth knowing before you buy a big boat from a marketplace seller with no dealer behind it.
What voids coverage?
Normal wear and discoloration, abuse, skipped maintenance, hitting submerged objects, mooring or storing the boat in the water, improper transport or storage, weather damage, modifications, and rental or commercial use. One exclusion catches people out: beaching the boat without retracting the MirageDrive and rudder first. Pull both up before you slide onto sand or gravel.
How does the Hobie Oasis ship?
Two ways. If you are inside our delivery area, local delivery shows up as a shipping option at checkout and we bring the boat to you ourselves. We call ahead to set a meet-up, and since we do the unloading there is nothing for you to inspect or sign at the curb. Otherwise it ships LTL freight with a carrier running a 99.9% damage-free rate. On a freight delivery, look the boat over before you sign the receipt and write down any damage you see. That one step protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours. We email the full details once your order is placed.
