Shipping Damage Free Guarantee
Accessory Shipments
Paddles, PFDs, dry bags, helmets, skirts, motors, rod holders, and accessories ship UPS, FedEx, or USPS Ground.
It lands on your doorstep like any other package. We email tracking the day it leaves our shop.
Order gear on the same order as a kayak we're hand delivering or shipping, and it comes with the kayak.
Kayak Shipments
We deliver kayaks two ways. Inside our delivery area, we bring your boat to you ourselves. Everywhere else, it ships LTL freight with a carrier that reports a 99.9% damage-free delivery rate. We'll tell you which one you're getting once your order is placed along with more details.
If we hand deliver it
Nothing to inspect, nothing to sign at the curb. We're the ones unloading your kayak, so if anything is wrong, tell us right there and we'll take care of it. We will call before hand for a meetup place.
If it ships LTL freight
Look the boat over before you sign the delivery receipt. If you see damage, write it on the receipt. That one step is what protects your claim. Then email clear photos to helpdesk@cfoutdoors.com within 2 hours of delivery. We also will email you more details on this process once the order is placed.
What we cover
Structural damage. Anything that compromises the hull or would void the manufacturer's warranty, confirmed with the vendor. We make it right.
Cosmetic damage. Light scratches or minor surface dents that don't affect performance or structure. We send a repair kit when one is available. If you'd rather have a replacement, a 20% restocking fee applies plus full shipping back to us.

Filing a claim
Old Town handles warranty claims directly. Do not return the boat to your retailer for warranty repair. They issue a return authorization number before anything ships.
The Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO Footbrace Steering Kit turns the kayak's standard footbraces into steering footbraces, so a stern-mounted motor is steered with your feet instead of your hand. You keep fishing while the boat holds its line.
The kit swaps in aluminum steering rails and gives you the crimps, heat shrink, bungee and hardware to connect them to a stern motor. Steering cables are not included. Old Town builds the kit this way because cable length depends on the motor you run, so plan on sourcing cable to suit your setup.
This kit fits the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO only, and only when a stern motor is installed. Running a bow-mount motor instead? The 120 PRO Rudder Kit is the one to get, and it comes with its cables.

Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO Footbrace Steering Kit Questions, Answered
Which kayaks does this kit fit?
The Sportsman 120 PRO only. It will not fit the Sportsman 120 or the Sportsman PDL 120 PRO.
Do I need a stern motor for it to work?
Yes. This kit connects your footbraces to a stern-mounted motor. Without one there is nothing for it to steer. For foot steering without a stern motor, the 120 PRO Rudder Kit is the right part.
Are steering cables included?
No. The kit has the rails, crimps, heat shrink, bungee and hardware, but not the cables. Cable length depends on the motor, so you source that to match your setup. The Rudder Kit does include cables, which is where the confusion usually starts.
What is in the box?
Aluminum footbrace rails, copper crimps, heat shrink tubing, bungee, mounting hardware and installation instructions.
Rudder Kit or Footbrace Steering Kit, which do I need?
It comes down to where your motor is. Bow-mount motor, get the Rudder Kit at $199.99, which adds an actual rudder and includes cables. Stern-mount motor, get this kit at $54.99, which steers the motor itself. Some anglers run a bow motor and a rudder, which is the setup Old Town recommends for the most control.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. Instructions are in the box and the 120 PRO already has the cable routing built into the hull. Hand tools and an afternoon.
Does it work with the stock footbraces?
It replaces them. The standard adjustable footbraces come out and the steering rails take their place.
What warranty does it carry?
One year. Warranty claims go direct to Johnson Outdoors at 800-343-1555, option 2, with your proof of purchase.
