The Werner Camano is the low angle paddle in the fishing line, and for 2027 it comes in two new graphics, Mosaic Bass and Tailing Red. The blade shape is the one Werner has been building for decades. What is new is the artwork laid into the translucent fiberglass.
Low angle is the relaxed stroke, shaft closer to horizontal, top hand around chest height. It asks less of your shoulders over a long day, which is why it suits anglers who are covering water and following fish rather than fighting current. The blade is long and narrow at 52 by 16.5 centimeters, 650 square centimeters of surface, and it loads up smoothly instead of grabbing.
Premium construction throughout: fiberglass blade, dihedral power face, carbon straight shaft in Standard diameter, 26.75 ounces all in. The Smart-View Adjustable ferrule joins the two halves at any feather angle you like and sits flush, so there is nothing for a line or a tackle bag strap to hang on.

Key Features
- 2027 Fishing Graphics: Mosaic Bass and Tailing Red, the two new designs Werner built for anglers.
- Low Angle Blade: Long and narrow at 52 by 16.5 centimeters, which loads progressively and keeps the cadence easy over a full day on the water.
- Smart-View Adjustable Ferrule: Infinite feather adjustment with the solid feel of a one piece shaft. The joint sits flush, so there is no button or collar to catch a line, a leader or a net handle.
- Dihedral Power Face: The blade sheds water evenly off both sides of the spine, which is what keeps the paddle from fluttering and wandering mid stroke.
- Carbon Straight Shaft: Standard diameter carbon, tuned for flex and strength rather than raw stiffness, which is what your shoulders notice at the end of a long day.
- Translucent Fiberglass Blades: The 2027 fishing graphics are laid into a translucent fiberglass laminate, so the pattern reads differently depending on how the light hits the blade.
- Long Lengths Available: Runs out to 260 cm for wide fishing hulls and raised seats, where a touring length paddle simply will not reach the water cleanly.
- 26.75 oz: The lightest of the four paddles in this 2027 fishing group, which you feel most on the days you paddle more than you fish.

Werner Camano 2 Piece Questions, Answered
What are Mosaic Bass and Tailing Red?
They are the two new 2027 fishing graphics from Werner, offered on the Camano and the Shuna. Mosaic Bass is a green and gold scale pattern. Tailing Red is copper and orange. Both print into the translucent fiberglass laminate rather than sitting on top of it.
Low angle or high angle?
Low angle, which is the Camano, keeps the shaft closer to flat and the top hand around chest height. It is the easier stroke to hold all day. High angle, which is the Shuna, is steeper and more vertical, with more power for wind and current. If you are not sure, watch yourself paddle for a minute: most people already have a natural stroke.
What length should I get?
Kayak width and seat height drive it more than your height does. Wide fishing kayaks with high seats generally want 250 or 260 cm. Narrower hulls can run 230 or 240. Low angle paddlers usually sit one size longer than high angle paddlers in the same kayak, because the shaft is flatter and has to reach further out.
How does the Smart-View ferrule work?
The halves slide together and lock with a recessed collar, and the feather angle is infinite rather than fixed at set holes. Assembled, it feels like a one piece shaft, and the flush joint gives a line or a leader nothing to catch on.
Is the blade carbon?
No, the blade is premium fiberglass and the shaft is carbon. Fiberglass handles contact with rock, concrete and oyster better than carbon, and the shaft is where carbon buys you the most for the weight.
How is this different from the Camano adjustable?
Same blade and shaft, different joint. This one is a fixed length. The Camano adjustable uses the LeverLock system for 20 cm of adjustment on the water, which earns its keep if you stand to sight fish or move between kayaks of different widths.
What is the video on this page?
It is Werner’s own overview of the Camano blade design, from the Werner Paddles channel. The blade is the same one in these 2027 fishing graphics.
How does the Camano ship?
Ships parcel, nationwide, broken down into two halves. We are in Silver Point, Tennessee, so you are also welcome to come try one before you commit to a length.
